Everyone knows that regular exercise and a balanced diet are two important ways to help stay healthy, feel well and look good. However, nothing can stop time passing and whether we like it or not, as we grow older it shows in our faces. Frown lines and wrinkles are a normal part of the aging process.

Whilst aging is a natural process, most people prefer to look and feel good for their age. We can help you achieve a younger fresher skin with a natural look using facial softening injections.

A minute quantity of Botox® is injected into the muscles in the face that cause dynamic lines. The injection temporarily prevents nerve signals from reaching the muscle as a result the muscle relaxes and the skin smoothes out.


Your Treatment

A full consultation will be given by our experienced aesthetic nurses. It is essential that photographs are taken before and after your treatment. This is to allow a true comparison to be made of the effects of your treatment and also to provide an accurate record for future reference. Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin prior to your treatment. Post treatment aftercare procedures will be advised. You will be advised to return in two weeks for a follow up appointment. The smoothing effect lasts for approximately 4-6 months depending on your lifestyle.


Possible side-effects

You may suffer slight bruising localised to the injection sites. Some clients suffer from a mild headache which can be resolved with mild analgesia such as paracetemol. In severe cases ptosis can occur, this is when the eyebrow lowers but if this does occur it will reside in time.


Aftercare with Botox

Following your treatment we strongly request that you adhere to these strict guidelines. Please avoid extreme facial expressions, excessive rubbing of the face, alcohol consumption and applying make-up for the next 12 hours. Please avoid uv light, such as sun beds, extreme sun exposure, freezing temperatures, saunas and facials for the next two weeks. These guidelines are to ensure that the injected products do not migrate, which could cause other untargeted muscles to be affected.

Axillary Hyperhidrosis Treatments

Most normal or heavy sweating can be controlled with shop purchased aluminium chloride. When the amount of sweating is excessive and cannot be controlled by these measures it is termed hyperhidrosis.

Axillary Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating from the armpits. The evaporation of water from the skin takes the heat away from the body and so sweating is essential for temperature control.

The symptoms of hyperhidrosis are merely due to overactive sweat glands or overactivity of the sympathetic nervous system.

Excessive sweating can be more than just an irritant, it can dramatically alter the way people lead their daily activities. Within social setting sufferers can feel very uncomfortable as they are not able to control their perspiration leaving their clothes stained with sweat. Many sufferers double layer to try and absorb some sweat before it leaves embarrassing marks on garments.

Relief of the condition can lead to vastly improved quality of life regaining confidence and self esteem.

Botulinum Toxin is injected using tiny microneedles into the armpit causing paralysis to the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.

The treatment is relatively painless and will take an estimated 30-45 minutes to complete. There are no side effects, or after affects and normal activities can be resumed immediately. The treatment will last for up to 9 months.
