Environ® Skin Care

Environ® have beautiful skin for a lifetime

The Environ® Mission

Since ancient times, people have used cosmetics to try to improve their skin and to hide the effects of aging. Most consumers are bought into the hype of a simple cream with expensive packaging offering a ‘miracle in a jar’.

Dr Des Fernandes, a Cape Town plastic surgeon, pioneered in introducing vitamin A into skincare formulations offering benefits to sun damaged skin.

At its heart Environs® mission is to provide proven, cutting-edge technology and sound skin science principles in creating skin care for men and women of all ages and skin types.

The way our skin responds to aging can, in part, depend on our genetic make-up. However it is mainly how we treat and care for our skin that determines how well it ages. Exposure to sunlight, environmental elements such as air pollution and toxins together with our life styles all contribute to the visible signs of aging.

Vitamin A

The main ingredient in the Environ® range is vitamin A. Extensive medical research and trials have shown that it has a corrective effect on the skin, softening, smoothing and protecting it from the effects of ultra violet radiation and free radicals. It’s most important role is to help the production of healthy collagen and elastin which helps improve the skin’s natural moisture encouraging healthy and younger looking skin.

Vitamin C

C-boost is a clarifying cream from Environs® Intensive Range. It is designed to help treat blotchy pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and superficial blood vessels so that the skin regains optimum health and has a radiant glow.

What causes uneven patches on the skin?

The melanin in our bodies is what gives our skin and hair their colour. It is a protective pigment that is natural sunscreen, causing us to go darker when we expose it to sun light. The amount and type of melanin in our skin determines our skin colour. The problem of uneven skin tone ‘comes from a cocktail of hormones and sun exposure, which is why it affects women from their teens onwards. Women of African and Indian origin commonly struggle with blotchy skin tone and it is common for blemishes like pimples and chicken pox scars to leave darker marks on dark skins.

The contraceptive pill may also cause blotchy skin tone in certain women, and the problem may continue as long as they continue to take it. It can also flare up during pregnancy. Dark facial patches known as melasma or ‘the pregnancy mask’ may appear during the second and third trimester because increased levels of hormones affect melanin production. The hormonal changes occurring during menopause can also cause flare-ups in blotchy skins.

Vitamin A and C are known to help lighten these blotchy patches. Remember to use a sun screen daily to help prevent further melanin simulation. RAD SPF 16 is ideal from the Environ® range.

Ionzyme® C-Quence range

This range is ideal for the treatment for most people with skin photo-damage and discoloration marks. It contains high levels of vitamin A and C and should only be used by those who have already acclimatised to the Environ® Ionzyme® C-Quence 1 & 2.
